CNR Livestream Highlights EAVISION Drones: Smart Agriculture Technology Drives Pomelo Harvests in Pinghe

PINGHE, China – The China National Radio (CNR) recently launched its national livestream series, "Hometown Tour · Shouheng Imprint," with its inaugural stop in Pinghe County, Fujian Province—a region renowned globally as the "World Pomelo Hometown" and the "Pomelo Capital of China."

The broadcast attracted over 1.83 million viewers. During an extensive eight-minute segment, the EAVISION drone took center stage as the "star" of agricultural tech. The live demonstration of its high-efficiency operations in pomelo orchards drew widespread praise from both the program host and the online audience.

A Stunning Debut on National Livestream

During the broadcast, the CNR host experienced the technology firsthand, diving deep into the operational capabilities of the EAVISION drone.

"This model carries a 70-liter tank and can spray 4 to 5 mu (approx. 0.3 hectares) in a single flight," the operator explained. The host was impressed by the sheer efficiency of the machine.

Precision Operations: Cutting Costs, Boosting Profits

When asked how drone spraying compares to traditional methods, the operational team highlighted the stark contrast in performance: "Efficiency is increased by more than 10 times compared to manual labor, while overall costs are reduced by at least 20%."

The host expressed surprise at these figures: "That’s unexpected—I assumed employing high-tech drones would be an added expense."

The operator provided a professional breakdown: "EAVISION drones offer superior atomization and adhesion. This means the pesticide is more effective, so you use less of it. That’s where the cost savings come from."

Multi-Functional Design: Solving Mountain Logistics
Beyond spraying, the livestream showcased the drone’s heavy-lift capabilities. "The drone isn't just for spraying; it can also transport cargo, with a maximum payload of 75kg," the operator noted.

This feature is a game-changer for mountain orchards inaccessible to vehicles. The drone can easily transport harvested produce out of the mountains, significantly reducing physical labor for farmers and cutting transportation costs.

Pinghe County is the origin of the famous Guanxi Honey Pomelo and stands as the country’s largest production and export base for the fruit.

With a planting area of 700,000 mu and an annual output exceeding 1.3 million tons, Pinghe accounts for over a quarter of China’s total pomelo production. The brand value spans tens of billions of RMB, making it a true "National Geographical Indication Product" and a "Golden Fruit" for rural prosperity.

However, traditional farming here faces severe challenges: difficult management of steep mountain orchards, rising labor costs, and inefficient pest control.

EAVISION has become an indispensable tool in local agriculture. High-frequency service is required, with orchards typically needing treatment 7 to 8 times between March and September.

"Pomelos are different from citrus fruits. By May and June, the trees are large and dense, creating significant resistance to sprays. If the drone’s wind field (downwash) isn’t strong enough, the spray simply won’t penetrate the canopy," shared Lu Yuxian, a local flight defense team leader in Pinghe.

Lu’s team has serviced nearly 30,000 mu this year alone. Due to the drone’s unique penetration capability and spraying results, many farmers now actively request EAVISION services over others.

Beyond the pomelo orchards of Pinghe, EAVISION’s services have expanded nationwide. Known for efficiency, chemical savings, labor reduction, and versatility, the drones are providing robust technological support for the modernization of Chinese agriculture.

Moving forward, EAVISION remains committed to technical innovation, aiming to provide smart agricultural solutions to more regions and drive the revitalization of the rural economy.
