Joint School-Enterprise Research Applications

Enterprises contribute technical strengths while colleges contribute platforms and talent, enabling both sides to apply jointly for research projects and advance talent development and the transfer of research into industry.

Laser cotton-topping robot research project and prototype

R&D Project for a Laser Cotton-Topping Robot

For this project, EAVISION Robotics worked with higher-education institutions, a regional agricultural and animal-husbandry mechanization technology extension station, an agricultural machinery company, and a modern agriculture company. Addressing the low accuracy and efficiency of existing cotton-topping equipment, the team combined the local “one film, three stems, six rows” planting model with sensors, machine vision, autonomous navigation, and laser control. The project developed six intelligent laser cotton-topping prototypes with independent intellectual property rights, completed two prototype iterations, achieved efficient topping with low crop damage, and established a 2,000-mu demonstration base in designated townships.

Fruit-tree nutrient detection and precision fertilization equipment research project

R&D Project for Fruit-Tree Nutrient Detection and Precision Fertilization Equipment

EAVISION Robotics and Suzhou Polytechnic Institute of Agriculture jointly applied for the R&D category (2209) of the 2022 Provincial Agricultural Science and Technology Achievement Transformation and Integrated Extension Program with the project “Rapid Fruit-Tree Nutrient Detection Technology and Precision Fertilization Equipment R&D.” Using remote sensing and hyperspectral technologies, drones and ground-based hyperspectral equipment efficiently collect spectral information on fruit-tree leaf growth. Big-data and artificial-intelligence methods process and integrate the data into a fruit-tree leaf symptom analysis platform for real-time growth monitoring and yield forecasting, supporting scientific fertilization and smart orchard development. The project delivered one new product, filed one national patent, secured two software copyrights, published one research paper, and formulated one local standard.

Project-Based Training

Article 7 of the Opinions on Accelerating Rural Talent Revitalization, issued by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, calls for all types of organizations to play their part in developing rural talent. It supports enterprise participation and encourages agricultural companies to use their information and technology strengths to help farmers adopt new technologies.

EAVISION Academy actively organizes, promotes, and delivers public training programs for agricultural practitioners, agricultural science and technology professionals, rural revitalization talent, innovation and entrepreneurship talent, veterans, and university students. With more than 10,000 participant attendances, these programs have broadened agricultural-drone knowledge and practical skills, supported the national strategy of strengthening agriculture through science and technology, and contributed to rural revitalization.
