In the hilly citrus orchards of Southern China, pest control is difficult due to severe infestations and pests hiding on the undersides (abaxial surface) of leaves. Traditional manual spraying often suffers from low efficiency and poor chemical utilization.
Using its proprietary Bimodal Misting Technology, EAVISION conducted aerial application trials in the citrus growing zone of Nancheng, Fuzhou, Jiangxi. The study analyzed droplet deposition within the canopy, with a specific focus on under-leaf coverage, to validate the drone's suitability for dense-canopy orchards.

Results:
Atomization: The Volume Median Diameter (VMD) of droplets ranged from 90–130 µm, indicating fine drop size and excellent atomization.
Deposition: Droplet density exceeded 20 drops/cm² on both the front and back of leaves across the Upper, Middle, and Lower canopy layers.
The EAVISION drone successfully achieved effective deposition throughout the entire canopy. Crucially, it significantly increased the ratio of pesticide deposition on the backs of leaves, effectively addressing the challenge of reaching concealed pests.
